WHAT TO EXPECT ON SUNDAYS
We are a church where people come together in unity to worship the Lord Jesus Christ, meet new friends, and experience God’s love through the worship, teaching and community at SCBC. We aim to welcome folks from all walks of life no matter where they are in their spiritual journey. We dress casual so come as you are and experience what God has in store for you. We hope that you will join us.
Worship and the Word: In our Adults’ English service, you will experience a contemporary and engaging worship, and hear a Bible-centered message that is practical, relevant and challenging to your daily life. You will receive our Sunday bulletin where you can find the sermon outline, prayer items, family news, and upcoming events. We use the NIV 2011 version of the bible but feel free to bring whatever version you normally use. The bible text for the morning will be projected onto the front walls of the sanctuary for easy reference. You can expect the service to last about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Hearing assist equipment are available at the audio booth located at the back of the sanctuary.
Offering: We do take up an offering in our service. If you are visiting, please do not feel obligated to participate as this is intended for those who consider SCBC as their home church.
Communion: We celebrate Communion on the second Sunday of every month. We welcome anyone who is a believer and follower of Jesus Christ to partake with us.
Welcome Card: If you are visiting us for the first time, we would appreciate you filling in the Welcome Card found in the pews located in front of your seat. The card is where you can request information, ask for prayer, let us know your thoughts, or just give us some basic info for us to connect with you. You can drop the card into the offering bag when it passes you or at the Welcome Desk in the Fellowship Court. Please know that everything submitted will be kept in confidence.
Children’s Programs: If you have young children, there are various programs and activities for them while you attend the worship service and other Sunday programs. Find out more about our Children’s programs.
We’ll be happy to meet you during your visit and help you get connected. Feel free to speak to any of the ushers on duty each Sunday and they’ll be able to answer any questions you may have.
Welcome Desk: This is where you can find out more about SCBC and get connected. The Welcome Desk is staffed by volunteers each Sunday before and after our service.
Coffee in the Fellowship Court: We encourage everyone to enjoy some good fellowship time whenever we meet. Free coffee and tea are available before and after the service. Light refreshments will be served after our service.
Library Resource Centre (Sundays 8:30am-1:00pm) : The Library offers a good selection of resources that can help your spiritual journey.
